Preliminary Examination Pattern

The Prelims exam has two papers:

  • Paper-I: General Studies-I
  • Paper-II: General Studies-II (CSAT)

Both papers are objective type (MCQs). Paper-II (CSAT) is qualifying in nature. You need to score at least 33% marks in CSAT. The merit list for Mains is based only on Paper-I marks. There is negative marking (one-third of the marks allotted for that question) for incorrect answers.

The Mains exam is descriptive type. It consists of eight papers, including General Hindi, Essay, and six General Studies papers.
